**Reopening for In Person Treatment**

What our clients should know :)

When will you reopen for in person treatments?

With the BC Government announcement regarding Phase II reopening beginning May 16, 2020, we are looking at a gradual reopening with reduced hours beginning Tuesday May 19th :)

As a single person operation and the only user of the space (no outside practitioners), I feel confident that I can adhere to guidelines outlined by the varying health agencies to mitigate risk of exposure.

What should I know before booking an in person session?

In order to book an in person session the following guidelines will be put in place to ensure the safety of my clients, our community and myself:

  • clients must confirm they have not been out of country in the last two weeks

  • clients may not have knowingly been in contact with someone that has tested positive for Covid-19. This includes places of work, transit to and from remote work camps, and hospital settings with active outbreaks

  • clients, or immediate family members residing in the same house, may not be experiencing active cough, fever, loss of taste or smell. In children, no lost sensation or circulation to lower extremity or signs of active rash.

  • clients that are immune compromised or at significant risk of health complications arising from Covid-19 (compromised respiratory system, multiple comorbidities, been told by their medical professional they are at an increased risk of contracting Covid-19) must seek approval from an MD before attending in person

  • clients who are 70 years old and above, it is advised you speak with your medical professional regarding in person care

What should I do when I arrive?

  • please arrive at designated appointment time, not earlier. This will allow the previous client time to leave and myself time to properly clean any used equipment

  • if you are unsure if it is safe to enter, please call or text

  • upon entering clients will proceed to put personal items in a designated area and use hand sanitizer/wash hands

  • unfortunately, I will be unable to greet you with a handshake, high five or fist bump :( So smiles and hellos it is!

  • masks are not required, but should you feel more comfortable wearing one please do so

  • Ideally clients will be solo, however if the situation requires another person attend (support person, translator, assist client comfort, minor) they must also follow the above guidelines

Will sessions be any different than previous?

  • wherever possible and appropriate, sessions will involve reduced contact. This may involve more movement cuing, stretch, use of instruments,  and specific exercises with fewer manual therapy techniques

  • when contact does need to be made, I will wash/sanitize my hands prior to making contact Gloves and masks are also available

What other steps have been taken to ensure reduced transmission risk?

  • reoriented the space to allow for easier, more efficient cleaning

  • taken Safe Care BC courses on PPE and Covid-19 awareness

  • invested in surface wipes, hand sanitizer, masks, and gloves

  • established online booking, contact less payment, and electronic invoices/exercise programs

  • adjust scheduling to prevent client overlap and ensure time to follow cleaning guidelines

  • regularly checking guidelines established by provincial health authorities, Health Canada,
WorkSafe BC provincial regulatory agencies and WHO

  • continuing to offer Telehealth services for those that need to short notice cancel appointments when experiencing symptoms or prefer to not come in person
